EVERYDAY SELF-REFLECTION

Emotion journal prompts for when words are hard to find.

You do not have to tell the whole story of your day. Choose one prompt, write a sentence or two, and stop whenever you have said enough.

To describe this moment

  • What word fits how I feel right now?
  • What was happening just before I noticed this feeling?
  • What do I want to remember about this moment?

When more than one feeling is present

  • Which two feelings are here at the same time?
  • What feels easy today, and what feels difficult?
  • Is the word I first chose still the word I want to use?

To notice an ordinary good moment

  • What was one moment I enjoyed without needing it to be special?
  • Who or what did I appreciate today?
  • What would I like to make time for again?

To close the day

  • What changed between my first and last check-in?
  • What can remain unfinished tonight?
  • What is one small choice I want to make tomorrow?

An example, not a model answer

Prompt: What feels easy today, and what feels difficult? Entry: “Talking to my friend felt easy. Starting my next task felt difficult. I feel connected and distracted at the same time.” It names the experience without forcing a positive ending or a lesson.

Keep the entry yours

Skip a prompt if it feels unhelpful. You can use a single word instead of a paragraph, and you do not need to share the entry. In Mindflow, the note field gives you space to add this context alongside your mood and selected emotions.
